After a period that has seen us confined in our house for a long time, it has grown in each of us the need to get back to go out, to meet new people. This is also the thought that led to the creation of Bumble Brew, a club created in the center of New York where users subscribed to Bumble, a famous dating app, will meet and spend time together. Bumble, analyzing the data after the critical period of the pandemic, thought to give the opportunity to users to finally be together again offering a quiet and safe place to do so. This escape from the virtual for a return to interaction has finally a name: Bumble Brew.
The principle of the app
Now we are familiar with the concept of an app for meetings, an application designed to make new acquaintances and maybe – who knows – find love. On Bumble, however, the concept of approach that we all have in mind is completely revolutionized: it is in fact the woman who makes the first move. After an exchange of likes, the ball passes into the hands of the woman who will have to make the decision to contact or not the person concerned. A different concept, modern but very popular, especially in the US, with the aim of protecting the female audience giving them the opportunity to choose who to contact. This special attention to female users that we also find in the concept of the restaurant , thought as a safe place for a return to real interaction. An idea that reflects the aim of the program “First Date” in which two complete strangers shared a dinner in order to get to know each other better and maybe to find love.
Let’s take a look at the local
The project could become a reality thanks to the collaboration between the founder of Bumble.com, Whitney Wolfe Herd, and Pasquale Jones, owner of Delicious Hospitality. About 90% of users in the app felt the need to meet each other and will soon be able to do so at this new place located in the heart of Soho, New York. The room has been designed trying to reflect the app, to the point that even the interior and the furniture reflect the shades of yellow that distinguish the Bumble app. The Bubble Brew offers 80 seats in addition to a cocktail bar, an outdoor area and a private dining room. For lack of staff initially it will be open only for breakfast but the owners planned to offer menus for lunch and dinner. Even for the menus, they thought of a “food for appointment”, dishes to share and that did not create embarrassment or difficulty in eating them.
The project has not yet become a reality, although soon it will be, with the dream on the part of the company to expand the restaurant chain starting from the city of Austin,where headquarters of the company is situated. This is also promoted by the possibility of using these places for meetings or conferences that are frequently kept by the company and accompanied by food and drinks.
New York then will be a test for this movement that in addition to America could involve the whole world.
Will the cuisine with a Mediterranean touch and the location with attention to detail succeed in removing the worries that often accompany a first date? This must still be discovered, but surely it is an innovative idea that carries with it an important message that the company has always tried to convey. We’re talking about the fight for the protection of women, fought by a team, that of Bumble, composed exclusively of female figures.
