Apple working on foldable iPhones, but launch not close
There are two main challenges that could prevent Apple from selling foldable iPhones anytime soon:

The company prefers to target a foldable iPad first
It seems more likely that Apple’s first foldable device, if it decides to launch one, will be an iPad. This would involve less risk than creating a foldable version of the iPhone.
Engineers are working on a solution for the crease that forms in the center of theiPad ‘s display after repeated bending. They are also trying to ensure that the screen is completely flat when opened. Apple has been developing a foldable iPad since at least 2020. However, there are still challenges to overcome before it is ready for launch.
The road to quality foldable smartphones is still long
The technology is not yet ready to make iPhones half the thickness of traditional ones when folded, considering battery size and display constraints.
It took Samsung years and many product iterations to develop a hinge that eliminates the space between the two halves of the screen in its foldables. Apple still has a long way to go, but the company continues to work to overcome challenges and explore the potential of foldable smartphones.
