How to rename AirPods on iPhone and iPad

- Once you find yourself in the Bluetooth section of the Settings, click on the icon (i) located near the device name.
- In the menu shown, click Name.
- Now type the new name you want to give to the AirPods, in the text field, and press Finish.
How to rename AirPods on Android
Make sure you have connected the AirPods to the Bluetooth of your Android device, via Settings. After connecting them, follow these steps:
- Press on the gear icon located near the name of the headphones, in the Bluetooth menu.
- In the next menu, click on Rename and type the new name you want to give to your AirPods.
- Confirm the changes by clicking on the Ok button.
How to rename AirPods on Mac
If you have successfully connected your AirPods to your Mac, open System Preferences (the gear icon) on the taskbar. From here follow these simple steps:
- Click Bluetooth after the window opens.
- Right-click on the name of the AirPods and then on the item Rename.
- In conclusion, type the new name you want to give to your AirPods and confirm by pressing Rename.
How to rename AirPods on Windows
You can easily change the name of the AirPods from a Windows PC. The steps to take are the same on Windows 10 and previous versions of the system. That said, make sure you’ve activated your pc’s Bluetooth and connected your AirPods to it, through the Settings menu. Now follow these steps:
- Open the Control Panel, selecting it from the Start menu.
- In the window that opens, click Hardware and Sounds and then click Devices and Printers.
- Once you’ve located the AirPods in the list of connected devices, right-click the name and click Properties from the context menu.
- Click on the Bluetooth tab so you can see the AirPods icon and their default name. Use the text field to change the name of your AirPods and confirm the change by pressing Apply.
- Finally, close the Bluetooth properties window. To see the changes made, you need to disconnect the AirPods from Bluetooth and reconnect them, so you will be shown the name changed.
