iPhone‘s Wallet app allows you to keep and have at hand Apple Cards and prepaid cards, tickets for trains, airplanes and cinemas, coupons, store loyalty cards, etc… In addition, thanks to the integration with Apple Pay, Apple’s electronic payment system, Wallet allows you to add credit and debit cards and use them for payment in stores, which are favorable to contactless payments.
It’s a very useful app and you can access it easily: you find it as a default app on iPhone and to use it just click on it. Today’s guide will suggest you an additional method that is the fastest: we will talk about how to open Wallet with the side button.
How to open Wallet with the side button
To open Wallet on iPhone with the side button, there are few steps to follow, and they are simple. Once your iPhone is unlocked:
- go to Settings;
- click on Wallet & Apple Pay;
- Turn the switch ON next to the “Double-Click Side Button“.
Now by pressing the side button (iPhone power button) twice, you can access your Wallet. If this doesn’t open the app, there could be two main causes: the lack of cards inside your digital wallet or the side button is damaged.
If you want to disable this feature, you can follow the same steps mentioned above and turn the switch OFF.
How to open Wallet from iPhone lock screen
Another trick that we would like to suggest you is to enable Wallet on the iPhone lock screen to open it faster. Wallet in the lock screen is useful and convenient when you need to make a quick payment or a scan. So, if you need to use your Wallet quickly, you can enable it on the iPhone lock screen and you can open it by pressing the side button twice (follow the steps above to enable it). Here are the steps to follow:
- open the Settings on your iPhone;
- tap on Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode);
- enter your iPhone password;
- Scroll down and under Allow access when locked, bring the switch near Wallet to ON.
Once enabled in the lock screen, be careful not to leave your iPhone unattended, because anyone can open your Wallet from the lock screen.
