New news for Playstation fans

playstation, computer, console

2023 is a momentous year for PlayStation. Access, the ninth generation has taken off (finally!) and now it’s time to give content to those well over 30 million PS5 sold. However, things go further: Sony’s planes go through a PS4 and a PlayStation VR 2 that aims to revolutionize the way we interact with video games. Today, technology is not a problem now, but its catalog will be what determines its success. With that panorama, the question asks itself: what are we going to play?

We have selected, gathered, and organized the most outstanding PlayStation releases for 2023 in one place. Those of PS5, of course, but also those of a PS4 that still have surprises to come. And, obviously, the first batch of titles that will cement the new generation of PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality. Each game is accompanied by its trailer, its date (if any), and a letter with our signature.

News

From here, one last point: how we have organized this summary of 2023 on PlayStation. For that, and as in the Original Journey, we have divided the writing into 2 pieces, consequently: Initially, you will find the games with a fixed release date ordered by release, accompanied by our impressions or study according to publication. In the end, those releases without an established date will be found in alphabetical order, which -logically- will naturally go to the first set throughout the year. Of course, this idea is much more than an easy list. On the one hand, it is complemented by our classic selections of the best of all years and the best PS5 and PS4 games. As we mentioned, we’ll be updating the added new games write-up, the latest trailers, and added games regularly so that you continue to be the best when it comes to finding the best PlayStation games, or even better, your next journey on consoles. Still, if you want to know what other games will appear on the other systems, you can always keep an eye on our own other 2023 reviews. Without further ado, here are the best and most anticipated games coming to PlayStation in 2023, including 2 new major Final Fantasy installments and the highly anticipated return of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Men. Seeing making space on your console because you are going to need it.

One piece odyssey

In a year in which the PlayStation consoles will be filled with good JRPGs, the first hit on the table is given by Luffy and his nakamas: One Piece Odyssey invites us to live a new story expressly constructed by Eiichiro Oda in which the Hats of Straw return to their superior adventures. What more could you want?

The rise of the monster hunter

Fierce beasts and colossal in size. Weapons and armor are awesome in shape and size and a new component to Capcom’s epic hunting formula: ninjutsu techniques. After conquering us on Switch and Computer, Monster Hunter Rise arrives at the desktop to crown itself as what it has always been: the best game in the saga.

Abandoned

In a year in which Square Enix will throw itself into blockbusters for the next-generation PlayStation, Forspoken is going to be its first hit on the table. A monumental use of ambition that drinks from the isekai theme and bears the signature of the responsible analysis of Final Fantasy XV.

Dead space

Horror, science fiction, and video games were consistently a winning mix. If, in addition, we are talking about the new arrival of a cult classic with a completely updated technical section and more visceral resources, it is difficult to resist. The Dead Space saga was crying out to come back and its EA remake requires the first trailer to be played with the lights off.

Hogwarts Legacy

It doesn’t matter how old you are: Warner puts in your hands said dream letter to enter the Hogwarts Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and an offer in this way is not to be missed. Set a hundred years before the Harry Potter books, Hogwarts Legacy belongs to the most anticipated RPG of the new generation. Of course, all the wizards and witches of PS4 also remain formally invited.

Wild hearts

Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo join forces to take on Monster Hunter in their batch. Its pros: Its epic hunt initiative has been specially designed for next-gen consoles, and new mobility and crafting systems have been added to the Capcom formula. The amazing sword blows are on us.

Atomic heart

The first huge shooter of the year on PlayStation systems. Developed by Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment, Atomic Heart takes us to a harsh Soviet Alliance in the year 1955, an alternative to ours, in which robotics and advanced technology draw a different story. The counterpoint to Wolfenstein? Rather, a whole new excuse to fill the screen with sparks and explosions.

Mountain Horizon Call

The video game that will serve as an ambassador for PlayStation VR 2 is, at the same time, the first huge Spin-Off of the expanding Horizon Zero Dawn saga. One is designed to be experienced through the eyes of a new protagonist in the most literal sense of the expression. Of course, we will be in the best company: Aloy will allow us the length of the journey.

Octopath Voyager II

The luscious allure of traditional 2D-HD paper is coming to PlayStation desktops in the sequel to the must-have Octopath Traveler. 8 protagonists who will intertwine their destinies in the same irresistible journey for those who are nostalgic for the JRPG of a lifetime.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Koei Tecmo has taken 2023 quite seriously and, in the process, has let Team Ninja let their hair down when it comes to recapturing the essence of dark fantasy action gaming. Comparisons to the Ninja Gaiden saga are inevitable, of course, but the makers of Nioh and Dead or Alive have learned a lot from the glory days of Ryu Hayabusa.
