To some of the users of gaming laptops, Razer’s newest Blade 14 is a that is a boon in some ways but above all is a bust in others: namely the cost.

The 2022 Blade 14 comes in three slightly different configurations. Every model has a Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, but you can choose from an RTX 3060, an RTX 3070 Ti, or an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. The model with the slowest card, the RTX 3060, comes with a 144 Hz display instead of the 165 Hz version on the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti configurations. The version RTX 3070 Ti retails at $2,600 while the RTX 3060 version retails for $2,000 and the RTX 3080 Ti version for $3,500.
What it is Microsoft Pluton?
Microsoft together with leading processor leaders AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm Technologies, announced the new Microsoft Pluton security processor, a chip-to-cloud security technology, pioneered in Xbox and Azure Sphere, that ensures greater protection in future Windows PCs.
Microsoft’s main goal with this security processor is for devices with its operating system to have security at the core, embedded in the CPU, so that hardware and software are tightly integrated. This revolutionary processor will make it significantly more difficult for attackers to hide under the system and will improve the ability to protect against physical attacks, as well as prevent the theft of credentials and encryption keys.
Currently, the operating system security on most computers lives on a chip separate from the CPU, called the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The TPM is a hardware component that is used to help securely store keys and measurements that verify system integrity – these modules have been supported by Windows for over 10 years! And they power many critical technologies such as Windows Hello and BitLocker.
Now, the new 2022 Razer Blade 14 laptops, including the new Mercury Edition color options, come with support for Microsoft Pluton.

With the update also upgrades two Type-C USB-3.2 Gen 2 ports to USB-4, which expands peripheral compatibility, increasing device connectivity options; and enables multi-monitor deployments, Thunderbolt dock support, compatibility with Razer’s Core X external graphics enclosure, etc.
To have in account, this is also the first time any Razer Blade has become available in three unusual color options simultaneously (Mercury, Quartz and Black).
