The best way to write on your smartphone from your PC

There are applications that turn out to be ingenious solutions to certain problems, but it is not always a good idea to use them when there are other types of options. If by any chance you need to be able to write on the iPhone from a Windows 10 PC, this is how you could do it and how we would recommend doing it.

How to write on mobile devices from the PC

For some time, some integration between mobile devices and desktop systems has been sought. For example, Apple added the Handoff or Continuity function, as it is known in Spanish, which allowed thanks to having identical native applications to start writing a message on the iPhone and then continue on the Mac.

Then there are other types of applications that “bring” those apps to the desktop such as the web version of WhatsApp. And finally, there are solutions such as Your Phone, a Microsoft application that offers the option to control notifications, make calls and something else between Windows 10 and Android devices with version 7 or higher.

Of course, what happens if all you are interested in is being able to write a message on your iPhone, write an email or something similar without having to raise your hands from your computer keyboard. In that case there is an application that we just discovered: AirType. This iOS application is really one of those third-party keyboards that the company began to allow to use some versions of the system.

In this case, AirType will simply have to be activated and then give you full permissions so that you can perform your task optimally and without any limitation. The next step is to select it in the application where you are using the keyboard. When you do it in the part you will see that an IP address appears. That is the address you have to copy and write in your computer’s browser. When you do, an interface appears with a text box in your PC’s browser and everything you write there will be sent to the iPhone.

Exactly, the solution is curious and even ingenious but it seems nothing practical. In addition, despite being a local IP, it would not be what I would use when I had to write sensitive information such as passwords or personal data.

Bluetooth keyboards with multi-device connection

What is the best option to write or use the applications of an iPhone or any other device from the computer? Well, see, if you want integration with the iPhone at the moment having a Mac is the option. Still, Dell is working on software to offer a similar experience with their laptops. If you use Android, My Phone or Your Phone from Microsoft is the option as we have already commented.

Of course, if what you are looking for is simply not having to take the device and type in it there are multi-device keyboards that are recommended. These are connected via Bluetooth and include different buttons to quickly switch between the two devices. That way, you can compose a message, email or anything else with the same keyboard you use with your computer.

If you go to stores like Amazon, for example, you can see many devices. Logitech options are likely to be the best known and most complete. For example, models like the Logitech K780 are very good. Or the Logitech K480 or K380 that are cheaper, but as we say there are others very similar in both design and price. It is a matter of looking for the one that best suits your preferences and price.
