What Happens When your Facebook Account Gets Disabled

You might try to access your Facebook account one day, only to find out that you’re not able to do so. After entering your login credentials, the message “Your account has been disabled” appears onscreen. You then understandably start to panic, while wondering why such a thing could happen. If this situation applies to you, just stay with us, because in this article we’ll explore the reasons why your Facebook account was disabled, and we’ll also find out how to bring it back!

Why is your Facebook account disabled?

Facebook has various reasons as to why it may disable your account. You may be an exemplary user that never does any wrong, and therefore you find this situation to be rather perplexing and unjust; but, actually, your account could be taken down even in seemingly innocent instances, like not using your real name. Let’s check out some of Facebook’s reasons for disabling an account:

 – managing an account and posting content that doesn’t follow the Facebook Terms
 – repeatedly behaving in a way that violates Facebook’s Community Standards (use of violence, sexual exploitation, hate speech, fraud, etc.)
 – as already mentioned, using a fake name
 – impersonating someone
 – harassing, using abusive language, spamming, advertising, or other inappropriate conduct

How to restore your account

Now, what can you do about it? Is there the possibility of getting your account back? Well, you can, depending on the circumstances. Based on the severity of the incriminating action you performed, Facebook will decide whether to make you regain access to your account, or not.
You have the chance to request a review, in case you believe there was a mistake on part of Facebook. If you manage to prove that your account was unjustly closed down, you’ll probably be able to restore it. But restoring an account that was disabled due to severe violations just won’t be possible (learn more about this here).

Try restoring your account by requesting an account review

Requesting a profile review is very simple: you’ll only need to fill in this form right here. The information you should enter is:
 – the login email address or phone number associated with your account
 – your full name (the one in use on your account)
 – your ID, preferably in JPEG format
Keep in mind that you can submit more information in the form up to 30 days after your account was disabled. If you fail to meet the deadline, you’ll no longer be able to request a review, and your account will be permanently disabled. Moreover, you should submit said form exclusively if your account has been disabled for violating Facebook’s Community Standards. If that is not the case, you’ll need to contact Facebook’s Help Center instead.
