The function of the Firefox release notes is to inform you what’s new with the browser, such as showing the system requirements for each new version. Besides reminding you that you can also make feedback, and you can even show bugs in Bugzilla.

New
- An improvement in the responsiveness of macOS during periods of high CPU load by changing to a modern crash API.
- Always forgetting something? Required fields are now underlined in PDF formats.
- Improved performance on high refresh rate monitors (120 Hz+).
- Do you enjoy the Picture-in-Picture captioning feature? It just got better: you can change the caption font size directly in the PiP window. In addition, PiP subtitles are now available on Funimation, SonyLIV, Tubi, Hotstar, and Dailymotion.
- You can now access the toolbar icons in the tabs with the “Shift + Tab” commands or the arrow keys.
- The Windows “Make text larger” accessibility setting now affects all UI and content pages, instead of applying only to system font sizes.
- Rejoice! You can now easily access Firefox, as it will be pinned to the Windows 10 and 11 taskbars (i.e., it will also help Firefox start faster after installation).
Fixed
- It fixed WebGL issues in NVIDIA binary drivers via DMA-Buf on Linux.
- Fixed! The issue where Firefox was slowing down due to web content processing in local storage. Which caused a major impact on users with platter hard drives and significant local storage.
- Various security fixes.
- Non-breaking spaces are now converted, preventing automatic line breaks (copying text from a form control).
Modified
- The configuration option that allowed SHA-1 signatures on certificates is removed.
- It has long been determined that SHA-1 signatures are no longer sufficiently secure, therefore SHA-1 signatures will no longer be supported.
Web Platform
With the update, your data now has increased protection against online tracking which is given through “Total Cookie Protection” which is by default setting.
All third-party cookies are now isolated in split storage.
