How to see everyone on Zoom

June 21, 2021
With the whole issue of confinement and social distancing, companies in different sectors, educational institutions and others have been forced to opt for different alternatives that allow activities to be carried out from home. This is where technology plays an important role in our lives, as it allows us to break down the barriers of distance and carry out activities that require interaction and along with the multiple applications existing in this medium, can be done through a screen and, best of all, from the comfort of our homes.
Now, among these, we find platforms such as Zoom, which allow you to make video conferences in an easy and interactive way; therefore, today we will talk about some features that this application offers and that you may not know… how to see everyone on Zoom.
Zoom Perspectives
In your Zoom videos, by default, it will show who is constantly talking, however, you can see the participants from different viewpoints on your screen:
Gallery: when you are in your video conference, go to the top right of the screen and click on Gallery View. Once you have done this, you should see a grid of all the participants (you can see up to 49 participants at a time and you will see an arrow to see the others).
On the other hand, you can set this view as default, to do so, from the app go to the Settings menu or from the active video conference, at the bottom left next to the Video button in Video Settings. From either of these two options, under Meetings select Gallery View > Show up to 49 participants per screen and that’s it, you have this option active for your future meetings.
Full or minimised screen: you can watch the meeting in full screen by clicking on the four arrows icon at the top right or minimise the video and view the open content on your computer at the same time. So, from Windows go to the top right or from Mac go to the top left and click on the minimise icon. When minimised, you can contract the video by clicking on the left arrow or exit this mode by selecting the right arrow.
Speaker’s view: this is the default Zoom option, where the person speaking will be displayed large and everyone else at the top of the screen.
Screen sharing: you can share your screen with participants in speaker or gallery view by selecting Swap shared screen with video in the top right corner and that’s it.
Hide participants without video: finally, you can hide the participants by right-clicking on each of them, then click on Hide Non-video participants and then show them again under Total non-video participants > Show Non-video participants.
As you can see, every day we see more and more technological implementations that allow us to optimise our time, activities and even the way we relate to other people.
Therefore, if you are someone who needs to make meetings all the time, don’t hesitate to make use of this tool and of course to take advantage of these uses and implement them in your videoconferences, so… have fun!
