Interview with Simone Bresciani, CEO of Teachcorner, the platform that assists you in your studies.
In Italy more and more people rely on universities to continue their studies, driven by the desire to learn and to create a better future. On this university trip, however, it may happen that in the study plan you are faced with a subject that, even after having followed the lessons, is more complicated than others. Before we could rely on confrontation in presence but the pandemic unfortunately forced us to sacrifice even the moments of discussion. So how do we do it? Well there is a solution and it’s called Teachcorner.
Teachcorner is a commission-free online platform that offers a wide range of tutors and professionals ready to assist you in the most difficult moments of your degree.
For the students
In this network you will have expert tutors in different disciplines. If you’re wondering how to find what’s right for you, the answer is simple and intuitive. Simply enter the name of the subject for which you need tutoring and the city or address that are most comfortable. Based on these data you will be advised of a number of experienced tutors in the field and their data sheet in which the price per hour is listed, the degree course attended and the weekly availability of the person. At the same time you will have the opportunity to choose whether to participate in online lessons, thanks to the innovative virtual classroom, or meet the tutor in person. The solutions proposed are really numerous and available in almost all Italian cities.
Teachcorner also offers a Group Review service to prepare any exam or entrance test at the University. With this service, reachable via https://ripassi.teachcorner.eu, you can access a group session for only 10€/hour (11,59$) or, if the University has an agreement, benefit from a discount of up to 8€/hour (9,27$). The tutors who guide the review are selected by our team through 3 evaluation steps and at the end of the review are evaluated by the students themselves. For reviewers, we offer a “satisfied or rebooted” guarantee: if they fail the exam they would be entitled to participate free of charge in the next session of an equivalent review.
For the tutors
This platform offers the opportunity for anyone to share their knowledge with those who need it. You can create ads for free on the platform by deciding in complete freedom the rates and the methods of lessons, whether single or group (on Ripassi). If you decide to play the repetitions directly from home you will have available on the platform a multimedia space where you can take advantage of interactive whiteboard. You can record the lesson and have many other tools available that will save you time and money, compared to the classic repetitions.
The possibility of organizing group reviews is also an opportunity for the tutor to better optimize his time and his gain, because he has the opportunity to explain specific topics of an exam to, for example, 7 students at the same time and earn an average of 40€/hour (46,3$).

Hi Germana, thank you for your interest in Teachcorner. So, I can tell you that Teachcorner is the first platform of Education Technology that contributes to improving the performance of university students. At the same time it encourages the achievement of higher educational levels, thus reducing the delay in the achievement of the degree and the number of people renouncing to graduate. The offer of specialist tutoring services, a profiled database and matching algorithms allow students to find perfect tutor for your needs, who come from the same path and had taken the same exams. This is also a way to put students at ease, right from the start, and show them that the obstacles they are facing are identical to those faced by their “more mature colleagues”. This creates an environment of trust between tutors and students, stimulating the study and the achievement of the final goal, whether it is the passing of a simple exam or of the entrance test.
How and when was the idea of Teachcorner born?
So, the idea of Teachcorner was born to prevent a lack. I’ll tell you better: while I was on my way back to my hometown, I thought of how nerve-wracking it was for my brother to fail an exam after several attempts. So much so that he seriously thought of quitting his studies. Like him, some of my friends were in the same situation, and in the long run the thought of “not making it” becomes overwhelming. So much so that you end up losing confidence. I talked about this with my friend Edoardo, and we decided to create a platform that can connect students in difficulty like my brother and our friends, with students who have passed the exam and can be of help. Determined to turn that idea into reality, Edoardo and I developed the programming code to improve the platform and we also designed the first marketing campaigns. To date, Teachcorner has an organized database that allows you to find the perfect tutor for your needs from over 50,000 subjects, selectable from 4,000 degree courses, in 140 universities.
How long did it take to shape the project?
The idea was born at the end of 2017, and throughout 2018 the first version of the Teachcorner platform was developed. In the course of 2019 we opened the company and started invoicing through a subscription fee business model, which took into account the needs of online and in-person repetition. Today it has completely changed into a transaction fee model, which considers the only online mode for individual lessons or group review.
Is the platform dedicated only to tutors, or can the study centres already offer help to students?
The platform is also open to realities such as study centers and companies focus on training. We provide our virtual classroom, which includes Speech-to-Text and voice recognition technologies to provide an inclusive experience also for people with low vision or DSA, in addition, our videoconferencing system is optimized for lessons and refresher sessions on the platform, up to 50 participants- Thus allowing you to promote training to more people in less time, optimizing resources and time of both parties (study centres and students, or companies and employees).
Do you also offer a service for those who only need to revise a certain subject?
Absolutely yes! The platform Teachcorner allows you to find with extreme precision the tutor who deals with your specific university, degree and subject, in order to perfectly meet the needs of students. In addition, the Ripassi service, a real innovation in the sector, allows you to receive a review on a specific subject or improve your preparation for the entrance test. Take, for example, medicine. With Ripassi, you can take part in a group review with a qualified tutor, who also asks questions and solves doubts about the test and the future subjects. . Because, especially in such faculties, hard work begins later and having an idea of what is expected is certainly a value that the students of the community have recognized in Ripassi.
What are the future developments?
Group reviews have proved to be a great success among university students and today they are held online in Live mode (on specific days and times). Our future intention is to create a real academy of group review, to be conveyed in On-Demand mode, at an even lower cost.
In addition, thanks to our machine learning and data analysis algorithms, we want to create a real personalized guide for each student, able to make a predictive analysis of the needs they may have throughout their studies. In this way, we can advise the student to deepen their knowledge and participate in certain reviews in advance and in a completely personalized way.
A mobile application will be released by the end of 2022 to facilitate actions and interaction between students, as well as create engagement through the launch of dedicated challenges and assessments.
Cool Fact: Do you also use Teachcorner to study?
I was the first to use it! In fact, I asked a tutor for help in order to be able to complete my thesis. There is no shame in asking for help, indeed, it proves to know its own limits. We must therefore roll up our sleeves and ask ourselves: how can I overcome this limit? Maybe the answer, as it was for me, is right on Teachcorner.
