How to activate Spotlight on Windows 10

To activate the Spotlight feature on Windows 10, you need to follow some simple steps:

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select “Customize” in the context menu.
  2. In the customization window, click on “Wallpaper.”
  3. In the “Choose your wallpaper” section, select “Spotlight” from the drop-down menu.
  4. Now, the Windows 10 desktop will show dynamic images provided by Bing, just like on Windows 11.

How Spotlight works on Windows 10

Once you enable the Spotlight feature on Windows 10, you will enjoy dynamic images that change regularly. You can easily switch between images by clicking “Switch to next image.” In addition, you can provide feedback to Microsoft by clicking “Like this image” or “Dislike this image.” Based on your feedback, Microsoft can further improve Spotlight backgrounds to meet your expectations.

New Windows Share features on Windows 10

In addition to Spotlight, Microsoft has also introduced new sharing features on Windows 10. You can now directly share copied URLs to WhatsApp, Gmail, Facebook, and LinkedIn using Windows Share. However, at the moment, Twitter is not yet supported, but Microsoft plans to add this option in the future.

In addition to the new features, Windows 10 build 19045.4116 also includes some bug fixes and improvements. Here are some of the issues fixed with this new version:

  • Fixed remote desktop authentication issues with sovereign cloud endpoints.
  • Fixed Japanese IME issue that did not work properly on custom desktops.
  • Windows Hello for Business now works with Microsoft Entra ID on all apps.
  • Fixed delayed Azure Virtual Desktop sessions.

Why Microsoft is bringing Spotlight to Windows 10.
