May 4, 2022
Apple is sharing a new firmware update for the AirTag. What changes is surely the fact that the update is automatic: it must not be forced and cannot be stopped in any way, so sooner or later everyone will have this new version 1.0.391 of the firmware. In this way, Apple will make available the latest security protocols to be used by all active devices. The only thing you can do is to verify that the update has been completed correctly. The process is simple: just download Find My app, navigate to Items section and click on one of your AirTags. In the details screen, tap where the latest update and battery status are shown. Here you will see the new update to version 1.0.391 with build number 1A301. In addition, this update contains further improvements regarding anti-stalking features. In case of loss, it will also be easier to find these items thanks to the sound produced by the same that will be stronger, so that people can find them with less effort.
For the less experienced who are wondering what AirTag is for: if we find a backpack or another lost object but we notice that there is an AirTag connected, we can approach to it with our iPhone, but also with any Android, to read information and the telephone number of the owner; in this way we can contact him and return to him what belongs to him or her.
