By julianapardogonzalez

It has happened to you that you are having a good time with your friends and when you check your phone have a lot of missed calls that you never listened to even having your mobile next to you? If the answer is yes, keep calm, this could have a solution.

To come up with the solution, first we need to understand why this is happening. Here are some possible reasons:

  • Your phone is paired with Bluetooth.
  • Your mobile is on Do not disturb or Airplane mode.
  • Your ringer volume is turned down.
  • There is an issue with a third-party ringtone.
  • You turned on call forwarding.
  • Your mobile is infected with malware.
  • Your speaker port is clogged
  • Your phone is physically damaged.

Check your phone for the 3D: dust, dirt, and damage.

In the first place, look at your device and check for any damage, such as cracks or dents (which could be a sign that you may need to replace it). But take it easy, we will hold off until we have tried other quick fixes. Start it analyzing the speaker port because it could have dust or dirt, which you can easily remove by cleaning it with a cotton swab dipped in a drop of rubbing alcohol.

Restart your mobile

An easy way to fix it is by trying to restart your phone.

  1. Press and hold the “Power” button until you see the Options menu.
  2. Tap “Restart”.

  2. Tap “Restart”, then tap “Restart” again to confirm.

Check your volume settings

Even when you have already tried a simple restart and does not work. But you can still hear other media like music, social media, or videos. It could be an issue with your ringer volume. So check your volume settings.

Samsung:

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick settings panel.
  2. Tap the “Do not disturb” icon to turn it off (it should be grayed out when it is off and blue when it is on).

Make sure Airplane mode is off

If you set your mobile to Airplane mode during a flight or to charge it quickly, and you forgot to disable it when you landed or the battery is 100%, your phone will not ring.

Other Android:

  1. With the device unlocked, swipe down from the top of the screen to display your Quick Setting menu.
  2. Check Airplane mode to see if it is off. If it is on, tap the setting to turn it off.

Samsung:

  1. With the device unlocked, swipe down from the top of the screen to display your Quick Setting menu.
  2. If it is, tap “Airplane mode” to turn it off (it should be grayed out when it is off).

Check Bluetooth

If you have paired your device with headphones or earbuds and are not using them, it is a fact that you will not hear your phone ring. So to turn off Bluetooth pairing.

  2. Tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner, then tap “Advanced” > “Block pairing requests”

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, for any of these quick fixes worked on your phone, and you can hear the ringtone again.
