May 16, 2022
Nowadays, thanks to our mobile devices and computers, we have the ability to search for a specific term within a web page; for example, an invisible word when you quickly visit a site with verbose text and content. It’s a really convenient feature which not everyone will know and that solves a problem for people who don’t want to waste too much time searching for specific information on the web.
For example, with Apple’s Mac on Safari, if we’re browsing a web page, it’s easy to search for a word: just press cmd+F keys and type the word or phrase in the black search field that appears at the top right of the page. Or if we want to search for a certain word in a site and we are using Google Chrome, just click on the button with the three dots placed in the top right corner and select the item “Find” from the menu.
However, this guide will talk about how to search for a word on a web page with iPhone on Safari. Actually it is not at all known this step with iPhone, but let’s see how it does.
Scrolling up and down the page, you will see at the bottom the bar with the Share button, History and the button with the drawing of the double window to see all the pages you have opened on Safari. Click on the Share button and from here you can select, among the various options, “Find on Page“. After that you can enter the word in the search field (next you will also see the number of occurrences on the page) and you’re done. Safari will show you the location where the word or phrase you searched for appears and this will be visible thanks to the highlighting. In addition, inside the page you will be able to see all the occurrences of the search that you have just completed.
