Running Out of Storage Space on your Google Account? Google One is the Solution!

By Alex Balaniuc

If you’ve been using your Google account for a while, including all of the free services it has to offer, you’ll eventually find yourself in a problematic situation: running out of storage space. In fact, there’s a limited amount of free storage you get when creating a Google account. When said limit is exceeded, the only way to keep storing data on your account would be paying for more space.

You could bypass this issue by creating multiple accounts for various services that offer free storage, thus spreading your files across different platforms. But what if you’d rather keep all of your files stored in a single place, like your Google account?

Well, in case you’ve reached the storage limit and want to go over it, you’ll need Google One: in this article, we’ll find out how to get more storage space on your Google account with Google One!

About Google One: get more storage for Gmail, Drive and Photos

What is Google One? It is primarily a membership plan for expanded storage, but it also includes extra benefits: members can receive benefits redeemable at the Google Store or on Google Play, they can get direct access to experts for help with Google products and services, and their plan features can be shared with up to 5 family members. The premium plans (2 TB and up) also include VPN.

Now, everyone with a Google account starts out with the basic 15 GB plan, which is included at no extra charge. The data you accumulate across Google services such as Gmail, Drive and Photos will take up storage space on your account overtime.

But if you upgrade to a paid Google One subscription, you’ll have 7 storage plan options to choose from that’ll allow you to keep adding and storing your files on your Google account. The plans go from 100 GB up to 30 TB, and for some you can pay annually instead of monthly, and vice-versa.
