International Expansion of In-App Ticket Sales Service
After its initial launch in the United States in August 2022, TikTok, the popular video-sharing platform, has announced the expansion of its in-app ticket sales service to 20 new countries. This service, in partnership with Ticketmaster, is now available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, the Low Countries, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, and Sweden.
Promotion of Artists on TikTok
This partnership allows artists in these countries to use Ticketmaster’s ticket selling feature on TikTok to promote their concert dates and connect with new and old fans on the platform. Artists can add Ticketmaster event links to their videos before publishing.
TikTok has declared that this partnership has led to successful ticket sales campaigns both for emerging artists and big names such as Niall Horan, The Kooks, Burna Boy, Bianca Costa, Grand Corps Malade, DJ Snake, and Shania Twain. The company also mentioned that there have been over 2.5 billion video views utilizing the in-app features since the beta version was launched.
Creating New Opportunities for Artists
‘With our service of selling tickets directly on TikTok, we are offering artists the opportunity to reach ticket buyers in a completely new and changing way in which live events are organized around the world.‘,
stated Michael Kümmeler, head of global music partnerships development at TikTok.
‘By giving fans the possibility to get closer to artists and events they love, we hope to provide added value to all artists at every stage of their career and offer more opportunities for a growing fan base‘, he added.
Other Ticketmaster Partnerships
Ticketmaster is not the only significant platform to collaborate with Ticketmaster in recent years. The company has a partnership with Snapchat that allows users to find live events near them. It also has a partnership with YouTube that enables users to find Ticketmaster events directly on the video page. Furthermore, it has an agreement with Spotify that offers personalized event recommendations to users.
