September 1, 2020
As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, Xiaomi, the Chinese company based in Beijing, unveiled its latest and most amazing TV. The world’s first transparent television called MI TV Lux: Transparent Edition, was the product selected by the technology company for the celebration.
In addition to the transparent TV, Xioami also launched its new cell phone, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, during its anniversary celebration.
The result of years of work
According to what is stated by the firm of Chinese origin, the Xiaomi Mi TV Lux is a product that has been the result of years of research and work. Creating the first TV with a transparent OLED screen was a great challenge for the company. This engineering work took several years of effort and dedication, and today they can finally present it to the public as yet another product of the company.
One of the biggest challenges that Xiaomi’s group of experts had to face was locating all the hardware components on the bottom of the TV. These elements are generally located on the back of the screen.
Once this challenge was overcome, the engineers had to solve another challenge. And is that by locating all the components in the lower part of the screen, they had to work to dissipate the heat generated by them.
Xiaomi Transparent TV Features
The design as well as the engineering work of the MI TV Lux, gave it characteristics that until now no other television in the market has. The main and most prominent aspects of the new Xiaomi TV are the following:
- It is a transparent TV with a 55-inch OLED screen.
- Its thickness is 7 millimeters.
- Their frames are practically non-existent.
- It has a circular base where all the hardware components are located.
- This computer has a MediaTek 9659 processor.
- For the sound aspect, it has Dolby Atmos technology.
- Includes a refresh rate up to 120Hz. This brings as a consequence that the fluidity of the television will be double that of common televisions.
- The price of the Xiaomi TV will be 49,999 Yuan, which is equivalent to approximately $ 6,085.
“Xiaomi’s pursuit has always been to make the coolest product and the vision of becoming the coolest company in the hearts of users“, the Asian company commented in a statement.

How does the Xiaomi Mi TV Lux work?
In addition to its hardware components and its circular base, the Xiaomi Mi TV Lux is made up of a 55-inch glass plate bordered by a metal frame, this with the idea of providing greater strength to the equipment.
As for its transparent panel, this is not so much in reality. The panel is divided into two sections: one completely transparent, and the other covered by pixels with extremely small dimensions so they go unnoticed by the eye.
In short, it could be said that the Xiaomi Mi TV Lux is a standard television with its components located at the bottom, and with pixels almost imperceptible to the human eye.
Features a 120 Hz refresh rate
The new Chinese TV has enough power to reproduce 93 percent of the DCI-P3 space. Additionally, it has two components that will delight game fans. The Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent provides a refresh rate of 120 Hz, in combination with MEMC technology. This technology is responsible for adjusting the refresh rate depending on the title that is running. The TV also provides an impressive response speed of just one millisecond.
On the other hand, Xiaomi’s TV includes a MediaTek 9659 processor, and an SoC with the necessary power to take full advantage of the AI Master. AI Master is the artificial intelligence technology that enhances scenes, to provide better visual quality.
Another outstanding feature of the Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent is that it integrates Dolby Atmos support, so the sound quality will be completely ideal.
