After How Long Can you still Recover a Google Account?

In this day and age, we could consider an online account as almost a necessity. This ever-growing digitalized world we live in demands that people complete tasks or create and manage documents online. Nowadays, in fact, our lives pretty much revolve around the use of the Internet. We get to do everything via our technological devices – computers, phones, tablets, etc. – while they’re connected to the web, for example, creating and sharing any type of file you can imagine. This is essential for environments such as school or the workplace, which generally ask students/employees to perform activities online. Not only that, because you can satisfy your personal needs as well, like communicating with your friends and family, watching videos, checking your social media profile and much more. Keeping up with the technological revolution has become very important for each member of society, and if some people don’t want to adhere to this new lifestyle, then there’s the unfortunate risk of being left behind.

What is a Google account useful for?

All of this to say that an online account is the first step to be more connected to this “new world”. Companies such as Google, for instance, allow you to create a free Google account through which you can use a great variety of Google services, such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, Play, Maps and so on and so forth. These services will help you perform your daily tasks, like checking your emails, creating, sharing and storing your files, meet online with other people or visit places.

Recover your deleted Google account after a long time: is it possible?

Now, on to the gist of this article, know that you can delete your Google account whenever you want. Maybe you want to do it because you don’t need it anymore and you’d rather remove it from existence to avoid the risk of a stranger breaking into your account and stealing your personal data. Or maybe you created the account for a one-time occasion only (school/work project), meaning that it will be of no use afterwards. But what if once you’ve deleted the account you realize that it still served a purpose and that removing it was a terrible mistake? Is the deletion of a Google account reversible, and if it is, how can you get the account back?

There’s a thing known as “grace period” when talking about deleted Google accounts: this expression indicates the time during which recovering your deleted account is still possible. This time limit only lasts 30 days. So, if you unfortunately go beyond this term, your Google account will get permanently removed along with all the data linked to it. Therefore, we highly recommend you save all of your important files that you’re managing on a certain Google account you want to delete somewhere else before you proceed with deleting said account. By doing so, even if you forgot to try to get the account back for the next 30 days, your important files will be safe and won’t get lost forever.
