Bethesda’s Starfield and Redfall got Postponed to Early 2023

May 31, 2022
We’ll have to wait a little longer for the release of Redfall and Starfield, the two upcoming video games published by Bethesda. In fact, the studio issued a statement via their Twitter profile on May 12 explaining the circumstances.
“We’ve made the decision to delay the launches of Redfall and Starfield to the first half of 2023“, and also “The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them” were the main points of the message.
Knowing that the development teams behind Starfield and Redfall are taking all the time they need to work on their projects is undoubtedly very reassuring. While the news regarding a postponed release date might initially cause the most eagerly-awaiting gamers to loudly groan, at a later time these same people will thank Bethesda for this decision.
After all, the discontent that would ensue following a rushed, unpolished and buggy launch would inevitably tarnish the name of the games in question for a long time. The catastrophy that was the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077, for instance, must have convinced many players within the gaming industry that spending a little more time perfectioning their products is absolutely worth it.
With that said, let’s refresh our minds about Redfall and Starfield, the two Bethesda-published upcoming games of 2023!
Redfall and Starfield: an overview of these two Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusives
Both Redfall and Starfield are Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusives. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also get Day One access to both games.
Redfall is an open-world co-op first-person shooter developed by Arkane Austin, a team that has worked on various successful titles such as the Dishonored saga and Prey.
The plot takes place on the Redfall island, situated in Massachusetts. The scenic location became infested with a horde of vampires who obscured the sun and blocked any form of communication with the outside world. In this dire situation, all you can do is choosing your hero and teaming up with other survivors just like you in order to eliminate as many evil creatures as possible.
A single player and a multiplayer option are both available; the latter allows for up to four players in co-op mode.
Starfield is a special title, since it’s the first new IP developed by Bethesda Game Studios itself after over 25 years. This game will finally break the cycle of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout-centered content the studio has been releasing over the last two decades.
In this open-world space-themed RPG you’ll begin your journey as a customizable space explorer from The Settled Systems. Not too long ago the bloody Colony War between the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective factions took place, therefore the atmosphere is still uncertain and tense. As a member of the Constellation, a space-exploring organization, your main concern will be to discover new planets in the aftermath of said conflict. Who knows which secrets you’ll uncover throughout your adventure?
