How to charge your phone faster, the tricks you need to know

May 27, 2022
Our lives are becoming more and more busy, among the many work commitments, with friends and family. Being most of the time away from home, now our concern has become the battery charge of our smartphone, which sometimes does not come to the end of the day, or if it does comes with a really low level of autonomy.
For this reason, we thought it would be interesting to write a guide on some tricks to charge the phone faster, thus making the most of the calm moments of the day, when we have the opportunity to charge our smartphone. Are you curious?
With this guide you will learn how to optimize your phone’s charging time, limiting energy expenditure and using some tricks such as, for example, using the most suitable battery charger for your device.
But first, you have to know that these techniques to speed up the charging operation, are not miraculous so much that they increase the amount of electricity supplied to the battery. We strongly advise against these methods because they would end up causing collateral damage to your device and to you.
Let’s get started! Here are the various tricks you need to know to charge your phone faster.
Use a suitable charger
The first thing we recommend is definitely to use the original charger that comes with the same on the day of purchase. This way you have the security of using a charger that is designed specifically for the smartphone in question. In addition to optimizing charging times, you also lower the risk of overheating the battery.
If you decide you don’t want to use the original charger for some reason, then you need to be careful about choosing a compatible charger. You have to pay attention to the input, output and amperage parameters.
The input indicates the values of voltage (e.g. 240V) and input current (e.g. 50/60hz). The output, instead, is the value of the voltage provided by the charger; generally, this value is equal to 5V, but it is always better to inquire first. The last parameter you should pay attention to is the amperage, because it concerns the potential value, measured in Ampere, of electric current that the charger is able to deliver.
Charge your phone from off
It is often said that recharging the battery of a smartphone, without turning it off, is harmful. Actually, this is not entirely true. However, this is an effective trick for our purpose, because charging the phone battery when turned off can affect the time it takes to do this. This is because when the phone is turned off it does not use power, so everything that comes from the charger is stored in the battery of the phone. So, turn it off before you start charging it and then turn it back on at the end of charging.
Charge your phone in Airplane Mode
If, for various reasons, you can’t turn off your smartphone while charging, you can charge it faster by putting it in Airplane Mode. By setting it to airplane mode, you will save the energy that would be used by the device’s network modules and all apps that connect to the Internet in the background. This trick will decrease the charging time of your phone.
Avoid PC’s USB ports
Most smartphones have the option of charging the battery via the USB ports of the PC. Sometimes it can be a convenient method to keep your phone handy while working or studying, but it’s not the right solution when it comes to battery charging speed. Charging your phone via computer’s USB ports is often extremely slow. This is because these ports can deliver less current than a wall charger. So if you want your phone to charge fast, avoid the PC’s USB ports.
Phone away from heat sources
To speed up the charging time of your phone, it is advisable to keep it in a place that is cool and especially away from heat sources. For example, avoid charging your phone in direct sunlight and on a heated surface or in similar situations. Excessive heat could result in a loss of energy accumulated by the battery, thus lengthening the charging time.
Remove the cover of your phone
Another trick that could speed up the charging of your smartphone, is to temporarily remove its case, also known as “cover”, before the operation. Some of them could act as a barrier, preventing the device from dissolving the excess heat generated by the charging operation, then affecting the timing.
