My Policeman is finally coming to Prime Video!

Currently, My Policeman is one of the most acclaimed movies by the audience, and fortunately, it will hit the Prime Video platform at the end of this week, and in this note, we will tell you what time you can stream the movie and some details about it. Let ‘s start. 

A story full of drama

This romantic drama starring Harry Styles (Tom), Emma Corrin (Marion), and David Dawson (Patrick), which is also under the direction of Michael Grandage, will visually and poignantly portray the experience of three people caught in the shifting tides of history, freedom, and forgiveness.

We are set in the 1950s in the UK, where we will see up close the story of a policeman torn between what is legal and what is right. Here we will follow Tom and Marion in the midst of a marriage that at first glance seems perfect, but inside reveals the true feelings of Tom, who is not being who he really wants to be. On the other hand, we will meet Patrick, the museum curator, who turns out to be the man Tom is in love with. 

In this story, we will see a love affair between Tom and Patrick, who risk everything in the midst of a society where homosexuality was illegal in the UK, while Tom maintains a commitment that has been given simply due to the social constraints of the time.

Where did the story come from?

My Policeman hit the big screen on October 21 and is based on the 2012 book of the same name by British author Bethan Roberts, known for the touching and human stories she captures in her writing as well as for the detail and importance she places on historical data. 

In Roberts’ novel, the story revolves around forbidden love and changing social conventions in 1950s England, where a love triangle involving three characters develops: a policeman named Tom, a teacher in love with Tom, and a museum curator, who is Tom’s true love.

The story behind the book

This romantic drama tells how Marion, upon seeing Tom (her best friend’s older brother) for the first time, falls deeply in love with him. Seeing that he is back from his National Service as a policeman, Marion, who is a newly qualified teacher, is determined to get his attention no matter what.

Convinced that their love for each other is enough, she decides to throw herself into marriage, unable to recognize the signs that Tom is leading a double life and actually has deep feelings for another man.

However, in a society where the law condemns those who are part of a “minority status,”  Tom accepts the engagement with the teacher to ensure her well-being, although in the end the pressures, the deception, and the fact that one of them breaks up will lead to the destruction of all three of them.

Now that you know all the details of this story, you surely don’t want to miss it, right? Well, the official release date is Friday, November 4, and since this is a global original, it will be heading to Prime Video at midnight UK time.

This is a fact that is a benefit for those in North America, as we often get the release earlier than expected as the time difference is five hours, but the clocks went back in the UK on Sunday. There is only a four-hour time difference at this time, so we will be waiting until around 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on Thursday, November 3 for the launch.

Note that it doesn’t always happen early, as there have been times when we’ve had to wait a little later for launch. Be that as it may, My Policeman will be on Prime Video on Friday at midnight local time, and it’s certainly a movie worth waiting for, especially for Harry Styles fans.
