Available Now the New in Chrome 110

By julianapardogonzalez

The “Early Stable” version of Chrome 110 was released at the end of January and the final stable version is available since February 7, 2023. Specifically, it is now easier to configure Google Translator, and password protection has been improved.

Google has released the latest update of Chrome 110

With new features that will improve the experience and security. Specifically, it will now be easier to configure Google Translator, password protection and NVIDIA RTX graphics cards have been improved. In addition, with this version 110 there is no longer support for Chrome for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, leaving millions of computers at risk as vulnerabilities are discovered in Chrome 109, as there will no longer be updates to fix them. Where it is also expected to stop supporting Windows 10 a little later, in 2025.

Now it is time to leave you with the complete list of changes that Google has published on its developer blog.

  • Better Google Translate controls

Chrome 110 finally adds Google Translate settings to the regular browser settings. You can go to chrome://settings/languages and choose a default language, set languages to translate automatically, and choose languages to never translate.

  • More enhancements to “Enhanced Safe Browsing”

It builds on the “Safe Browsing” feature with a handful of additional features. And this version came to Google Chrome for the first time in early 2021. Now, this new Chrome 110 update improves it even further with the ability to scan cookie requests from extensions to better detect malware.

  • Nvidia RTX Super Resolution Support

Chrome 110 supports the tool that can scale up the video playing in a browser. For example, if you have a 4K computer display, it can scale a 1080p video to 4K directly in the web player. But as stated, it only works with Nvidia RTX graphics cards, specifically the latest models of the RTX 3000 and RTX 4000 series.

  • Password manager improvements

Chrome 110 adds some improvements to Google Chrome‘s built-in password manager to make it even better. For starters, it now works with more websites, taking you directly to where you can change your password. Even better, just like on your Android phone, you can use a biometric method to confirm your identity before the browser automatically fills in a password. If your PC does not have biometrics, it will use whatever screen lock method you have.

What else is new in Chrome 110?

  • The new pseudo-class:picture-in-picture

Which allows web developers to customize the media player when videos enter and exit Picture-in-Picture mode.

  • The “initial-letters”

These are the large letters at the beginning of a new paragraph. The CSS initial-letter property allows setting the number of lines an initial letter should occupy.

  • The AudioContext.setSinkId property

Sets the ID of the audio device to be used for output. Which allows users to choose an audio output device while using web applications.

How to update Google Chrome?

It does not matter what platform you use, because once Google releases the Chrome 110 update package, it should be installed automatically.

However, you can also force it and immediately install any available update by going to Chrome settings and clicking Help > Google Chrome Info. And the last option is to reinstall Chrome manually.
