Why can’t I delete a comment on Instagram?

March 2, 2021
If there is a social network that moves masses and its popularity over borders, it is Instagram. It ranks as the number 1, being a favorite of celebrities, influencers and others.
This social network is quite measured and follows fairly strict standards regarding the rights of others and especially in the ethics of publications, which for example Twitter does not, of course, save distances.
It could happen that inside your private tray, you get nasty messages that you don’t want to keep, because Instagram allows you to delete them. Although lately it has been presenting problems, where when you try to delete them, it says that it has already been executed, and it turns out that they still appear in your tray.
Why I can’t delete comments on Instagram?
If you want to delete a comment from your post, because you just don’t want it there, or it’s one in bad taste or about the limit of education, then we tell you how to do it.
You should tap the Comments icon that looks like a balloon, just below the post, or just tap any comment. Then swipe left on the comment you want to delete if you’re on IPhone, or just hold it down if you’re on Android, and give it eraser.
What if the comment is not deleted?
If when you try to delete it, you receive an error message, which indicates that this comment cannot be deleted, it may be because on the system, the comment has already been deleted. But the screen has not been refreshed and the comment will continue to appear in your tray. This because you still see the previous screen before executing the action on the page.
The company has spoken out to the subject and defined it as a bug of the application. The Instagram’s Team is aware of the problem and issued a statement stating that soon the problem will be solved and that we have a little patience.
If you want to delete a direct message
This option works for both iOS and Android.
- Tap the icon that looks like a comet or lightning bolt inside a balloon at the top right of the news.
- Select the message you want to delete. Then swipe left if you’re using iPhone, or leave it pressed if you’re with Android.
- Then tap the message that tells you to Delete, and then delete to confirm the action.
Keep in mind, once you delete it, it will no longer be in your inbox, but that doesn’t mean it will disappear from the tray of the person involved in the conversation.
