Worst series and movies of 2022

By dayannastefanny

2022 marked the great comeback of cinema. It also marked the almost total recovery of the industry after the decline caused by the health emergency triggered by this epidemic. It was a year of highly anticipated releases after a long wait due to delays in the calendar. Something that gave the film world a renewed vision of its importance and weight in pop culture. However, there was room for what we can consider the worst movies of 2022. Among the incredible debuts and great visual feasts, there is a shocking list of projects that suffered due to their failed bids. From a bad attempt to bring a franchise to life, to try to tell an unexpected story. 2022 was filled with all kinds of depressing stories, surprised by their poverty and disappointed by a bad plan. The list ranges from new additions to major franchises to promising projects that are finally making waves.

12 disappointments in 2022

Amsterdam (Movie)

It lacks soul, character, and depth. But to make matters worse, the context becomes ridiculous as the narrative becomes more and more complex. Based on historical facts, the film combines several settings at once and tries to maintain different tonalities. But the result is unpleasant, dull, and ultimately too ordinary to be satisfying.

Even its ensemble cast-Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington-seem out of place. Breathless, mostly trying to show joy and hope, the losers look confused. In its final, and cheesy, scene, the film makes it clear that it cannot support its mission. The big plane makes it one of the worst films of 2022.

Blonde (Movie)

We analyze the rise to fame and tragic death of actress Marilyn Monroe, one of the world’s greatest actresses.

The Lord of the Rings (Series)

Rings of Power: There were high hopes for J.R.R. Tolkien’s first presentation. And while fans don’t think it’s “bad,” they found it “boring,”, especially in comparison to Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.

Moon Knight (Series)

This Oscar Isaac multi-personality hero fell into the mix of the Marvel series on Disney+, considered the worst of the choices in 2022.

Morbius (Movie)

Even though Jared Leto seemed like the affable one to embody Marvel’s anti-hero bat, the slice ended up being a disappointment for his fans.

The Vigorous Gray (Movie)

With Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas, in quadrille with the Russo brothers, the directors of Avengers: Endgame worked on an expensive achievement with poor gossip, which did not appeal to the audience.

The First Lady (Series)

It was another production with an all-star cast including Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Gillian Anderson, playing former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, and Eleanor Roosevelt. However, it was not enough to highlight a project that was conceived as an ongoing franchise.

The Time Traveler’s Wife (Series)

This adaptation of the popular book never reached the expected level of acceptance.

Black Adam (Movie)

Calling on Dwayne Johnson failed to rustle another DC anti-hero, in a slice that his charisma didn’t come out to excel and seemingly wasted the surface of presenting the Justice Society of America.

Pinocchio (Movie)

While it didn’t have the ‘rush very high’ when compared to other real-life versions of Disney animated classics, the fresh mission of Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks’ rector Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks, which had already delivered such fruits as “Forrest Gump” and “Cast Away,” managed to land in limbo.

The Crown (Series)

A lot of expectation rested on this series, especially for what happened in the House of Windsor in 2022, with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. But it was considered the weakest season to date, taking some puzzling detours along the way.
