January 22, 2023
Are you not satisfied with your computer? Do you find it too slow and incapable of performing certain tasks? Before you buy a new one, I suggest you try taking advantage of a hidden feature on Windows 10 and 11. It’s called the “Excellent Performance” mode and it will give your PC a great boost.
How to add high performance?
First of all, you should know that not all computers have this feature. However, if you bought it recently, you shouldn’t have any problems. Once you enable this mode, you will improve the performance in all those activities where the processor frequently switches from an inactive to an active state.
You will definitely notice improvements when using software that requires a large workload. Of course, there is also the other side of the coin. In fact, the power savings are practically disabled and, in case you own a laptop, it is advisable to enable this mode only when the PC is connected to the power outlet. But now let’s see together how to activate Excellent Performance on Windows 10 and 11.
How to unlock Excellent Performance on Windows 11
Follow these short steps and you will be able to enable this feature in no time.
Open your PC’s Start menu and type “cmd” in the search bar;
The Command Prompt program will appear. Select Run as administrator;
Click Yes to the notification “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”;
Now paste this code inside the window that opens: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61;
Press Enter.
As you can read from the Command Prompt window, you have officially unlocked the Excellent Performance mode on your PC. To activate it, follow this further procedure:
Open the Start menu again and type “Control Panel” in the search bar;
Once the program opens, select Hardware and Sounds;
Now click on Power Options;
You will have to find the Excellent Performance mode. If it is not present, try clicking on the Show additional combinations drop-down. However, you may also not find it in this case and this means that your computer is not compatible with this mode;
Finally, just click on the dot next to the function and you are done.
