Waze is now integrated into automobiles

The new device notifies the driver of any type of event and, more importantly, other in-car infotainment system functions, such as music playback, are always available when Waze is installed. Google offers automakers two ways to bring applications to the screen of the car.
What is Android Auto?
Android Auto is a Google Assistant that allows us to use many applications that we have installed on the smartphone on the car screen. It is designed so that the driver does not lose contact after starting the engine; does not use it to drive, send text messages, or listen to music, take your hands off the wheel and/or look away from the road. The Android Auto app, available on the Play Store, is compatible with all Android phones.
What is Android Automotive?
we have Android Automotive, a complete vehicle processing system, in which we install applications. that are not dependent on the mobile. However, Android Automotive OS has one of the most important driving applications today.
New android upgrades
Google Maps is now integrated with Waze navigation with a new app connected to compatible cars. The Android Automotive or Google Built-in version of Waze is now available for selected Renault vehicles. In Europe, the integration is available for drivers of the new Renault Austral Hybrid and Renault Megane E-Tech electric vehicles.
The new Waze Android Automotive app offers the same experience as the mobile app but is updated with a larger screen and in-car connectivity. Drivers will be able to see real-time directions and popular Waze notifications on the in-car screen. You will no longer need to connect your cell phone to the car.
How to download it?
To download the new Waze app on a Google-powered car, all you must do is go to Google Play on your Renault or download it from the My Renault app. Waze for Android Automotive will cover other designs and models in 2023.
It will be available on the Renault Austral and Megane E-Tech, the two latest additions to the French firm’s range. This is possible because all models offer the openR multimedia system with integrated Google. However, users with vehicles equipped with the system will be able to navigate with Waze directly from the 12-inch vertical screen they have installed. However, they will be able to receive real-time traffic alerts with warnings about traffic jams, roadblocks, or any other event.
All owners of these Renault vehicles will need to download the Waze app from the OpenR link, either directly from Google Play through the car’s multimedia system or from the MY Renault mobile app. From there, it will be enough to create an account or add an existing one to continue using it for free. This is Waze’s first major partnership with an automaker, but we expect it to expand to others soon.
How to log in with a QR code?
In case you don’t know how to log in with a QR code, follow the steps below:
- You will need to look to see if you have the latest version of the Waze app installed on your phone.
- On the car screen, open Waze.
- A QR code will be displayed.
- Scan the QR code.
- Then tap Yes, it’s me on the confirmation message on your phone.
