As you already must know, I always mentioned the value of technology and the evolution of this one. So, today you are going to read about how in the past years many browsers and specially Google have been working to maintain, protect and safeguard the innocence and the total integrity of the children. Considering that each family’s relationship with technology is unique and for that reason, Google wants to give parents the tools and flexibility they need to find the right balance.

That is why, the last 18 of October, Google launched in the Families section an article about new features that will be upgrade in some apps. Such as YouTube and Google TV, to be safer and entertained for families and specially for kids. And here we are going to explain you and show you what are these new characteristics.

Between these upgrades are Family Link and Google TV, some of which has experiences for parents and kids alike, to help families build healthy, positive digital habits together.

The newcomer of Family Link

The principal idea of this app is to help families to stay safe online. Also, you decide what it is best for your family. Easy to use tools allow you to understand how your child is spending time on their device, share location, manage privacy settings, and more.

Whether it is with the child first Android phone or exploring content on YouTube and Google TV, the company has provided parents with the tools to set screen time limits and guide children to age-appropriate content.

More options to explore in Google TV

As an entertainment experience, it is made for the whole family. And its kids’ profiles are easy to use for kids of all ages. With the addition of managed watch lists, Google-powered kid’s recommendations and supervised accounts on YouTube, Google TV’s kids’ profiles just got even more helpful.

Kids can easily browse top entertainment from their approved apps, and you as a parent can build a “must watch” list just for them from their TV and mobile device.

And for the older kids who are ready to move on from YouTube Kids, they can now use a supervised Google Account to start exploring YouTube on their Google TV kids profile. These updates will start rolling out as of 18 of October and complete over the next few weeks.
