New Xbox Games Coming Out In January 2023

By Valentina Tuta

As every year, Xbox often surprises their users with innovative and awesome games and this time we’re going to tell you which are the most anticipated games for this year. Although there is an extended list of titles that you should try, we’ll leave it for another note. Let’s get started!

The Biggest New Releases Coming To Xbox In January 2023

One Piece Odyssey (January 13)

A year ago, Bandai Namco announced it will be releasing another anime-themed offering on the Xbox Series X|S in 2023. Then, it was known that it would be the turn of the JRPG, One Piece Odyssey.

Set in the world of the popular anime ONE PIECE! This is the latest video game adventure based on the long-running anime series by author Eiichiro Oda. You’ll once again take control of Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hats Crew as you explore a mysterious island.

Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden (January 19)

It should be noted that these games will be released on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows on January 19th, 2023. As usual, we have a game whose plot is based on the “Butterfly Effect” by reflecting the changes that can happen if the player follows the path of the protagonist over the other.

Here, you will have the opportunity to choose the gender of the protagonist, where it is possible to open new routes and scenarios in the story. Lastly, you’ll be happy to know that Persona 5 Royal will be out later this month on Xbox Game Pass, so be on the lookout for that.

Monster Hunter Rise (January 20)

Everything points to Xbox users having an exciting month. Well, it’s official! Microsoft has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise is coming to Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC on January 20th, 2023, and you can watch the trailer here.

As you read, the game, which until now has been a Nintendo Switch console exclusive since March of 2021, is the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series, and was followed up with an expansion called “Sunbreak” earlier this year.

This release seems Monster Hunter Rise will run at 4K, 60FPS on the new consoles, and the official Xbox Game Pass 2023 announcement could be set for The Game Awards on December 8th.

On the other hand, it is important to remember that according to last year Nintendo Life’s reviews, this game had an “Excellent” 9/10 score, praising it as “one of the strongest entries into the franchise to date”. Let’s hope the Game Pass news is true, then!

Dead Space (January 27)

We’re now just under days away from the release of EA’s Dead Space remake and while the trailer is only a couple of minutes long, it gives us a good look at the game’s seemingly jaw-dropping visuals, along with some snippets of combat. Likewise, the unsettling, gory atmosphere of the original seems to be on-point as well.

Furthermore, if you’re a long-time follower of the game, you’ll be happy to know that this sci-fi survival-horror classic returns, completely rebuilt to offer an even more immersive experience staying faithful to the original game’s thrilling vision.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (January 31)

Finally, we have Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. This game celebrates the 20th anniversary of one of the most popular strategy games ever, now with stunning 4K Ultra HD graphics, and a fully remastered soundtrack.
