PlayStation Store subscription: voucher redeeming and account cancellation

If you have a PlayStation console and love games, you may get PlayStation Store gift card voucher codes from friends or family. And well, if that’s the case, you may be wondering how to use these codes.

Now, since the store is 100% online, you will need to use the code to apply those credits to your account. All you need to do so is the code, an internet connection, a device such as a console, access to a web browser, or the PlayStation mobile app. However, we will walk you through the process on each of your devices.

How to redeem a PlayStation Store voucher 

On a web browser

1. Go to PlayStation Store and click on your Avatar at the top of the screen. 
2. Select Redeem Codes from the drop-down menu. 
3. Carefully enter the code and select Redeem. 
4. The credit or content is now applied to your account.

On a PS4 Console

1. Go to PlayStation Store > scroll to the bottom of the sidebar > Redeem Codes.
2. Carefully enter the code and select Redeem.
3. The credit or content is now applied to your account.

On a PS5 Console

1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Redeem Codes. 
3. Enter the code and select Redeem.

Keep in mind that you can also redeem a voucher code during checkout by selecting Redeem Codes and Gift Cards from the payment method menu.

On the mobile app

1. From your account home screen, tap the PlayStation logo located at the bottom.
2. Tap the three-line icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
3. Select Redeem Code and enter the code as prompted.

PlayStation voucher restrictions

There are several restrictions for vouchers that you should be aware of:

• The voucher code must be for your account region. 
• To redeem certain subscription vouchers, you might need a valid payment method saved on the account.
• PlayStation Plus trial vouchers are only redeemable on accounts that haven’t subscribed to PlayStation Plus before.
• You can’t transfer funds or content between accounts.

How to cancel a PlayStation Store service subscription?

Well, first of all, you should know that active subscriptions can be canceled until the next payment date. You can find them in the Subscription Management section of Account Management.

Also, remember that the subscription will be activated each time you sign up. Therefore, if you cancel a subscription and then re-subscribe, the subscription will be reactivated. We will now explain each of the methods for canceling your subscription.

How to cancel a PlayStation subscription using a web browser

1. Sign in to Account Management.
2. Select Subscription from the menu on the left of the screen. 
3. Select Cancel Subscription next to the subscription you would like to cancel.

If you would like to keep your subscription, you can select Reactivate Subscription before the payment date of the current subscription to keep it active.

PS4 Console: Cancel a subscription

PS Plus and EA Play

1. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > PlayStation Subscriptions.  
2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.  
3. Select Cancel Subscription.

All other subscriptions

1. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Service list.  
2. Select the subscription from the list and select Cancel Subscription.

PS5 Console: Cancel a subscription

1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts.
2. Select Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions 
3. Select a service > Cancel Subscription.
